Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)

The DTV visa is a new type of visa that Thailand has recently issued. What are its advantages? What are its disadvantages? Let’s take a look at who can apply.

First, who can apply (who is the visa given to)? There are three main factors when granting a DTV visa. 1) Online entrepreneurs, remote workers, and freelancers. It is intended for people who work and earn a living, regardless of location. 2) It also allows for Muay Thai training, Thai cooking classes, sports training, occasional medical visits, seminars, and music festivals. 3) Finally, one of the advantages of DTV is that it also allows the spouse and children of the DTV holder.

The second is information related to the visa. The DTV visa is valid for 5 years. If you enter and exit, you can enter and exit more than once without having to apply for a re-entry permit (multiple entries). Once you enter Thailand, you can stay for 180 days (6 months). After 180 days, you can leave Thailand and re-enter. If you do not want to leave after 180 days, you can extend your stay for another 180 days. So, in essence, you can stay for up to one year at a time.

Another advantage is that every time you enter Thailand, you can start over from the beginning. For example, if you have only been in Thailand for 90 days, but for various reasons, you leave the country and re-enter Thailand, the 90 days you stayed for will not count, but you will start over from day 1 when you enter Thailand. The visa fee in Yangon is 400 USD. If you go to Laos, it is 10,000 baht.

The documents required to apply for a visa are as follows.

• Visa application (Download form)
• Passport valid for at least 6 months
• Photo taken within the last 6 months (3.5 x 4.5 cm)
• Bank statement showing at least 500,000 baht

Lastly, at the moment, the DTV visa does not have any special advantages other than the ones mentioned above. Currently, opening a bank account, doing something, etc., is the same as a tourist visa. The concept is that the tourist visa is like a tourist visa for business people. Since the DTV visa was launched recently, the benefits may change in the future.

DTV ဗီဇာပေးတဲ့အခါမှာ အဓိက အချက်သုံးချက်ကို ကြည့်ပါတယ်။ ၁) အွန်လိုင်းလုပ်ငန်းရှင်တွေ၊ remote အလုပ်လုပ်တဲ့သူတွေ နဲ့ freelancer တွေပါ။ သဘောက နေရာဒေသမရွေးပဲနဲ့ အလုပ်လုပ်ပြီး အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကြောင်း ပြုနေတဲ့သူတွေကို ပေးပါတယ်။ ၂) Thai soft power လို့ခေါ်တဲ့ Muay Thai သင်တန်း၊ Thai ချက်ပြုတ်နည်းအတန်း၊ အားကစား training၊ ခဏခဏ ဆေးလာကုသတာတို့၊ ဟောပြောပွဲ (seminars) လာတက်တာတို့ နဲ့ Music festivals လာတာတို့ကိုလည်း ပေးပါတယ်။ ၃) နောက်ဆုံးအချက်ကတော့ DTV ရဲ့ အားသာချက်တစ်ခုလို့ ပြောလို့ရတဲ့ DTV ကိုင်ဆောင်ထားသူရဲ့ ခင်ပွန်း/မယား နဲ့ သား/သမီး တွေကိုလည်း ပေးပါတယ်။

ဒုတိယတစ်ခုက ဗီဇာနဲ့ သက်ဆိုင်တဲ့ အချက်အလက်တွေ။ DTV ဗီဇာရဲ့ သက်တမ်းက ၅ နှစ် ရှိပါတယ်။ အဝင်အထွက် ပြုလုပ်မယ်ဆိုရင် re-entry တုံးထုစရာမလိုပဲနဲ့ တစ်ခါထက်မက ဝင်လိုက်ထွက်လိုက် လုပ်လို့ရပါတယ် (Multiple entries ပါ)။ ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံကို တစ်ခါဝင်တာနဲ့ ရက်ပေါင်း ၁၈၀ နေထိုင်လို့ ရပါတယ် (လနဲ့ဆို ၆ လပါ)။ ရက်ပေါင်း ၁၈၀ နေထိုင်ပြီးရင်တော့ ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံကနေ ထွက်ခွါပြီးမှ ပြန်ဝင်လာရမှာပါ။ ရက်ပေါင်း ၁၈၀ ပြည့်လို့ မထွက်ခွါချင်သေးဘူး သက်တမ်းတိုးနေမယ်ဆိုရင်လည်း နောက်ထပ် ရက်ပေါင်း ၁၈၀ ထပ်တိုးလို့ ရပါတယ်။ ဆိုတော့ သဘောအရတော့ တစ်ခါဝင် တစ်နှစ် အထိ နေလို့ ရပါတယ်။

နောက်တစ်ခု အားသာချက်က ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံကို ဝင်လာတိုင်း နေထိုင်တဲ့ရက်ကို အစကနေ ပြန်စရေပါတယ်။ ဥပမာ၊ ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံမှာ ကိုယ်က ရက်ပေါင်း ၉၀ ပဲ နေရသေးတယ် အကြောင်းအမျိုးမျိုးကြောင့် နိုင်ငံအပြင်ထွက်လို့ ထိုင်းကို ပြန်ဝင်လာရင် အရင် နေခဲ့တဲ့ ရက်ပေါင်း ၉၀ ကနေပြီးတော့ ရက်ကို မတွက်တော့ပါဘူး၊ ထိုင်းကိုဝင်လာတာနဲ့ ၁ ရက်ကနေ ပြန်စရေပါတယ်။ ဗီဇာကြေးကတော့ ရန်ကုန်မှာဆိုရင် 400 USD ပါ။ လာအိုဘက်မှာ သွားလျှောက်ရင်တော့ ဘတ် ၁ သောင်းပါ။
